The nonprofit credit union BECU plans to open its new permanent Kent Neighborhood Financial Center on Monday, June 2 at Kent Station, 321 Ramsay Way.
The new location will be near Red’s Wine Bar at the south end of the shopping center.
At approximately 3,000 square feet the new “stand-alone” location has six consultant desks, two ATM’s with 24 hour access, and two online banking kiosks to better serve members, according to a BECU media release.
Members can use the location to establish accounts, apply for loans and perform financial transactions, including free ATM, online and telephone banking services, with staff assistance, if needed. In addition, members can make an appointment with experts who can help with everything from retirement and estate planning, buying or refinancing a home or growing their business with BECU Business Services.
“With the decision last year by TOP Food and Drug to close its Kent store and our growth in the area, BECU moved to a temporary location within Kent Station,” said Adrienne Sharples, BECU’s Kent manager. “While the temporary location has allowed us to continue to serve our members in the area, we are really excited about the experience we will be able to deliver to our current and future members in our new permanent location.”
The BECU center will be open 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Friday and 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Saturday.
The company is a not-for-profit credit union owned by the members. Profits are returned to the members in the form of better rates and fewer fees. With more than 850,000 members and more than $12 billion in assets, BECU is the largest credit union in Washington and one of the top five financial cooperatives in the country. BECU currently operates over 40 locations in the Puget Sound region. All Washington state residents are eligible to join.
