Kent’s Airways Brewing will move this spring to a new, larger brewery and tap room.
“We’re excited to officially unveil our plans to relocate our brewery and tap room to a larger, more visible location in Kent,” said Alex Dittmar, founder and head brewer at Airways Brewing Company in a media release. “We considered many options on how and where to grow, but after an exhaustive search, we’re happy to have found a great space in Kent that will allow us to increase our production, as well as provide a better quality experience for our tap room guests.”
Construction on the new, 9,000-square-foot space along South 212th Street (at an existing warehouse just east of 84th Avenue South) has started and is expected to be done in the spring. Airways will reveal the exact address when construction is finished.
Airways currently operates out of a 2,000-square-foot facility at 6499 S. 196th St. The company expects to increase seating capacity in the tap room to about 75 to 100 from 45.
To celebrate the move, Airways last week released its 6th Anniversary Mosaic Pilsner, a German-style Pilsner features florally Mosaic hops with flavors and aromas of tropical fruit, citrus, and earthiness, with a wonderfully crisp finish.
Airways Brewing, founded in 2010, also operates a Beer & Bistro in downtown Kent, 320 W. Harrison St.
