Aerospace Job Fair coming up Jan. 7 at Kent’s ShoWare Center

An Aerospace Job Fair is scheduled for 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Monday, Jan. 7, at the accesso ShoWare Center, 625 W. James St., in Kent.

The job fair is set to attract dozens of employers and more than 500 candidates from Washington state, the Pacific Northwest and across the U.S., making it the perfect opportunity for companies to highlight careers in aerospace that appeal to all levels and types of qualified job applicants. Applicants can enter the job fair free, but are requested to register in advance at afa-wa.com/jobfair.

With thousands of open positions in aerospace across the state, the Aerospace Futures Alliance (AFA) and the Washington State Space Coalition (WSSC) are holding the state’s only job fair for commercial and defense aviation, space and unmanned aerial systems companies.

Employers such as Carlisle Interconnect Technologies in Kent are seeking to fill more than 200 job openings, including jobs for electrical assemblers, quality inspectors, material handlers and manufacturing engineers.

Job candidates should come prepared to talk one-on-one with human resources and hiring managers. Experience levels being sought are across the board from entry level, recent college graduates, certificated, AA, experienced professionals and veterans and military reserve.

Participating employers include Aero-Plastics, Inc., AIM Aerospace, Alaska Airlines, Aviation Technical Services, Blue Origin, Boeing, Cadence Aerospace, CarlisleIT, Crane Aerospace, Exotic Metals Forming Company, Hexcel, Horizon Air, Jamco America, Machinists, Inc., Mitsubishi Aircraft, Orion Aerospace, Pioneer Industries, Systima, TECT Aerospace, Tool Gauge and Toray Composites America.
