Kent Station kicks off student fundraising event

Kent Station announced this week that it is kicking off Earning Dollars for Kent Scholars, an annual fundraiser where Kent Station shoppers and visitors can win prizes while raising scholarship money for local high school graduates attending Green River Community College.

Service clubs plan Pride Day

Kent’s service clubs will celebrate spring with their first Service Club Community Pride Day 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. March 21. The graffiti paint-out event is being co-sponsored by Kent Police and Kent Parks, Recreation & Community Services. The goal is to eliminate graffiti, reduce vandalism and keep Kent clean, beautiful and safe.

I-90 weekend pass report: Be ready for snow

Snow and ice greeted drivers in Puget Sound's higher elevations and mountain-pass highways Thursday morning, with snow showers in much lower elevations than early forecasts predicted. WSDOT closed I-90 over Snoqualmie Pass and a portion of SR 18 near Tiger Summit during afternoon hours due to heavy snow, spinouts and collisions. Both roadways are now open.
