A compensation package for Valley Medical Center’s chief executive officer and transparency of government issues concerning the board of commissioners have become hot topics for the public hospital district.
The state Auditor’s Office hired the Seattle firm Ernst & Young to complete a performance audit of three public hospital districts, including Valley, Public Hospital District No. 1.

Seattle Thunderbirds general manager Russ Farwell announced this week the team has acquired center Stefan Burzan and a third round pick in the 2010 WHL Bantam Draft from the Saskatoon Blades for Jeremy Boyer.

To protect public health and safety in the event of major flooding related to Howard Hanson Dam, King County employees will install and test flood walls Thursday, Oct. 22 at 12:30 p.m. at the South Treatment Plant in Renton.
