As part of Kent’s partnership with Regional Animal Services of King County, starting this weekend, door-to-door marketers will be canvassing neighborhoods to sell licenses for dogs and cats, at their human’s door step. The hours will be: Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Sundays from 1 p.m. to 8 p.m. Weekdays from 4:30 to 8:30 p.m.
Have you been told you look like your dog or cat? Here's your chance to see if you're right: from 1-5 p.m. Sept. 25, Kent Station will host an event for pet owners and the animals who love them. The fun includes, of course, a contest for those starting to resemble their pets (that event gets under way at 1 p.m.)

Air Force Airman Anthony J. Hembree graduated from basic military training at Lackland Air Force Base, San Antonio, Texas.

Garber, a Kentwood High School alumnus, is attending the University of Washington Foster School of Business in Seattle, and anticipates a 2011 graduation date.

Brett Allen has heard it time and time again. So much, in fact, that it sometimes seems as though it has become an annual rite of passage for first-year Kent-Meridian football coaches.
Allen, who took over the K-M football program in February after Trevor Roberts stepped down, is the program's sixth coach of the decade.
