The Portland Winterhawks defeated the Seattle Thunderbirds 7-1 Saturday night at the Rose Garden in Portland.
Portland (19-9-1-1) took a 1-0 lead at 2:52 of the first on a goal from Ty Rattie. William Wrenn and Sven Bartschi had the assists. Portland fans littered the ice with teddy bears after Rattie's goal as it was the Winterhawks Teddy Bear Toss Game.

It's time again for Kent's annual Toys for Joy program.
Toys for Joy is an event where new, unwrapped toys are collected, sorted, wrapped, and delivered to the Kent Food Bank for distribution to needy families in the community. A portion of the toys also will be donated to other local food banks. Non-perishable food also will be accepted for distribution.
Singers and anyone willing to share their musical talents can help local food banks while bringing smiles to shoppers this holiday season.
